About this exam
The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) exam is a three‑part, multiple‑choice assessment administered by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Candidates may take each part in any order; the parts test internal audit fundamentals, the practice of internal auditing, and essential business knowledge. Scores are reported on a 250‑750 scale, and a minimum scaled score of 600 points is required to pass.
